 Irshalgad is a fort situated in the Karjat region. The name Irshalgad itself ia a misnomer; Irshal is not a fort but a pinnacle. This is the reason why it hardly figures anywhere in history. Shivaji Maharaj captured the vomplete region of Kalyan and Bhiwandi, up to Rairi in May 1666. This fort too, must have come under the Maratha rule at that time.

Thrilling Trek to Gorakhgad on Sunday 27th July,2014 with Vibes Outdoors

Hello Vibers, We are glad to invite you for Thrilling Trek to Gorakhgad on 27th July 2014.

 

 

Fort Gorakhgad is quite small in size. It was having strategic importance during the reign of Shahaji Raje. However, no major battle is recorded to have taken place here. It was used in Shivaji's era to patrol the nearby region and was used as a stopover station during the journey to Junnar via Naneghat. Though small in size, there is enough availability water and a lot of space for accommodation. The fort gets its name from Saint Gorakhnath, who performed his "Sadhana" in this place

Trek to Highest Peak of Maharashtra (Kalsubai) on Sunday, 20th July 2014 with Vibes Outdoors

Hello Vibers, We are glad to invite you for Trek to Maharashtra's Highest Peak on 20th July 2014.

General Information:

Kalsubai temple is located at the topmost peak of Sahyadri mountain range of Maharastra. Being on the summit of Kalsubai is like your at the top of Maharashtra. Its dream place for every trekker in Maharashtra especially in Monsoon because of its divine view. The vastly spread out backwaters of Bhandardara attracts ones attention from the top. To the north of the mountain range forts such as Ramsej, Harihargad, Brahmagiri, Anjaneri, Ghargad, Bahula, Tringalwadi, Kavnai can be seen. To the east one can spot Aundha, Vishramgad, Bitangad, to the west Alang, Madangad, Kulang, Ratangad (south west) and to the south Pabargad, Ghanchakkar, Harishchandragad can be seen.

At the summit there is a plain ground with a small temple of Kalsubai, a local deity. The main route to the temple is at small climbing slope . It usually takes three hours to reach the top from Bari. Soon after leaving Bari, a small stream is crossed followed soon after by a Hanuman temple. The route from behind this temple takes the hiker straight to the summit. It's really adventurous trek with breath taking natural views at every step.

Thrilling Trek to Harihar(Harshagad) on Sunday 13th July 2014 with Vibes Outdoors

General Information:

The fort of Harihar, lying on Trimbak range, was of significant importance in earlier periods, as there used to be a route crossing this range connecting Maharashtra to Gujarat.Trimbak range has spreaded its arms to the north of Igatpuri and west of Nasik. It is divided mainly in two parts, with forts of Basgad, Utvad, hill of Fani, Harihar and Trimbakgad on one part while the forts of Anjaneri and Hargad on the other. Vaitarna is the main river in this region. But due to the one – sided slope of Sahyadri, the water flows away from this region. There is an absolute shortage of water from January to March in this region. The fort appears to be rectangular in shape from its base village.

Explore Mighty Dudhsagar Waterfall on 16-17th August 2014 with Vibes Outdoors

Hello Vibers, We are glad to invite you to Explore Dudhsagar Waterfall on 16-17th August 2014.

Info-Dudhsagar Falls ( Sea of Milk ) is a tiered waterfall located on the Mandovi River in the Indian state of Goa on Goa’s border with Karnataka state. It is four-tiered. It is 60 km away from Panaji city by road and 46 km from Madgaon railway junction by train.As the cascading waters appear white like milk, the waterfall is called Dudhsagar, Doodh being the Hindi word for milk.

The waterfall is located in the Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctury at Mollem in South Goa in the western ghats. The waterfall is on the border of Karnataka and Goa states. The roads leading to it are maintained by the Goa Forest Department.The surrounding area is surrounded by a deciduous forest and many species of birds, insects, plants and animal abound here.
